Fork Mount Adapter (“Forkin’ Hoser”) – No Eyelets? No Problem

Oh well hello there friend, looks like you've gotten yourself into a pickle trying to mount something to your fork but your rack is trying to cash in on holes your fork ain't got! Well no worries pal, I'm here to help you out.

Yup, a couple of these forkin' hosers should be just the thing you need. Using some simple hose clamps on yer fork should hold them rack stays or whatever you kids are tossin' on your front ends these days quite nicely.

I tried to make it as simple a job as possible, cause uncle Benny ain't got too many brains left after all them can openers he took out on the ice being a beer league bench warmer.

Compatibility (Give This a Look First, Bud)

  • Best on round steel forks
  • Works on some skookum alloy forks if they’re nice and round
  • If you got a bougie carbon fork, might not play too nicely with being squeezed—check with your builder before you go doin’ anything you might regret

Installation steps:

  1. Find out where you want the forkin' hoser to sit. Ideally it'll be right where your rack stays, or other accessory is trying to sit.
  2. place a piece of old cut up tube or tape around that section of your fork. This is to help prevent you from scratching up or damaging your nice new paint job, and adds a little bit of friction into the mounting system.
    1. Now I do recommend this be used on steel forks, or maybe some other skookum alloy as long as its round. If you got a bougie carbon frame might not play too nicely with being compressed, so check with your frame/fork builder before proceeding with anything you might regret.
  3. Place the forkin' hoser in the spot over the tape/tube and line her up real nice and trim. Like you would if you was planning some lumber for your new cottage.
  4. Toss the hose clamp round the fork and mount and tighten it down good now ya hear. Now some of your 'berta boys might be too strong for your own good so don't go reefing on it so hard that you strip out the clamp. About 5Nm should be right on.
  5. That's a beauty now isn't it eh? You did a good job kid.
